I Want A Man

Niya Jordan wants a life of fame and fortune at any cost. She can have it, if she stays in an abusive relationship with her superstar boyfriend, NFL prospect. Will she jeopardize her future? This riveting short story explores the intensity of young adult love where abuse is never the answer and everyone has a responsibility to end it.

The film was written, developed, produced and financed by Sylvia W. Allen, Sylvideo Productions. Directed by Andres Desol, starring Kevalena Evertt, Mandi Jo John, and Qasim Clarke. With a $40,000 budget, utilizing all of her resources Ms. Allen negotiated a $4 million dollars location-Los Angeles International, at zero cost as well as locking J-Lounge in Downtown Los Angeles with a $1 million dollar price at no cost. By doing this made Ms. Allen the first African American student at New York Film Academy-Universal City to lock a major international airport as a location shoot. That same year "I Want A Man," won the prestige Indie Award of Merit for it's outstanding content. Based on this film the feature film script, "I Want A Man," is the winner of "Hot 100 List," in the Capital Funding Screenplay competition.
